The Alberta Opportunity Stream under the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) allows temporary foreign workers who are already working full-time in Alberta and have a full-time job offer from an eligible Alberta employer to apply for nomination. Applicants must have a positive Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) or hold an accepted LMIA exemption work permit and meet eligibility criteria related to residency, work permit type, occupation, language, education, and work experience. After nomination, candidates may apply for permanent residence or extend their work permit or nomination. Employers are prohibited from charging fees to employees for job offers.

• Support is available if an employer charges fees, through Alberta government resources.

• Employer fees for job offers or employment are illegal and enforcement support is provided.

• Temporary foreign workers currently employed full-time in Alberta with a valid job offer from an eligible Alberta employer.

• Applicants must apply individually through the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program portal.
